Student project. Various was not a client and did not commission this work. Coursework, Everett Community College — Graph 110 & Graph 113.
These four projects came out of Graph 110 and Graph 113 at Everett Community College, two classes that covered the full range of what Illustrator can do — from precise pen-tool drafting to gradient mesh painting to original letterform design.
Movie poster
The poster was the capstone for Graph 110. A complete one-sheet — title treatment, supporting imagery, billing block, the whole layout. I built it as a print-ready file at one-sheet dimensions.
Gradient mesh
The mesh project was the hardest piece in Graph 113. Gradient mesh is Illustrator's closest thing to painting — you lay a grid of points over a shape and assign a color to each one, and the tool interpolates everything in between. The result reads as a photorealistic render, but it's entirely vector.
Technical illustration
The airplane was a precision exercise. Every line is a pen-tool path, every curve is a deliberate Bezier. No live trace, no shortcuts. The goal was to see how far clean vector drafting could carry a complex mechanical subject.
